Alix: "Hi Joey =) thanks for this interview! All Crazy Lixx fans we’ll be very pleased to read this conversation with you, and of course it is gonna be great to know a little more of what u guys are doing right now! I am a big fan of u guys =)

Let’s begin with some questions I have for you:

First of all, why did u guys chose this kind of metal music? Why this Sleaze/Glam sound? Why not another Metal Genre?

Joey: Well it was actually Danny who started it all. Me him and our former guitarist Vic had played in a metalband for a couple of years wich was going to end and Danny started Crazy Lixx as a sideprojekt wich has grown into the band it is today. We wanted to play music wich we listened to when we where young since it was played anymore at the time. We started on that road and we have never looked back.

There is always a controversy between the fans and in general about the differences of glam, sleaze and hair metal. What are your thoughts about it? Do you consider them the same thing? How would you tag Crazy Lixx’ s sound and music?

Im not that much into the whole different aspect of sleazy, hair metal and think its kinda silly to call em that. I consider Crazy Lixx music just to be hard rock with the eighties influences whit the great vocals and killer choruses. But it doesnt matter what people call it as long as people like our music.

Right now Sweden is the best place to find great Sleazy and Glam bands, beside other kind of metal. How this Sleaze movement was born in Sweden? We all know about amazing bands like Shotgun Messiah, but could you tell us a little more about the “re-born” of this movement in these last years?

Well as I said earlier our kind of music wasnt played at all when we started the band. Later on as time went by we came in contact with other bands like crash diet and a band that was called Paradice and through the years the music we play has grown stronger for each year and with the new found popularity of the genre bands have really popped upp form everywhere. H.E.A.T, Bullettrain and Lizzie Insane are bands we know and love. Really cool bands with great music.

What other swedish bands could you recommend to your fans? And what is your favorite Swedish Sleazy band (beside of course Crazy Lixx)?

Hhehehe well im not that into the whole glam and sleazything but I mentioned HEAT and they are a great band with a hell of a singer. Also theres Pretty Wild wich has a former guitarist from Crazy Lixx. My favorite is HEAT though, they are so young and kick many of the older bands asses everytime.

As a drummer, who has been you biggest influence? Who is your favorite drummer in the whole world?

Im not that into the drumgod thing anymore but I really love a band called TOOL and the drummer in that band, Danny Carey, is one of the best drummers I´ve heard. Then there are drummmers in death metal bands and so forth but noone really plays with the same heart and groove as Danny Carey. My influences come from all around. As long as a drummer lifts the band with his/hers playing and not shows off for the sake of showing of I can be very influenced. A drummer like Joey Ramone is agreat exemple of a drummer that plays so easy but do exactly the right stuff.

Joey, I have read about a metal project you have , I think it was a death metal band. What can you tell us about it?
Well its a death metal band called Enshrined http://www.myspace.com/enshrinedswe and we have a myspace if anyone interested. Iv played with for 5 yeras now and we are finishing up the recording of our second album but i dont know when its going to be released. Not much to say really...it gives me another kind of skills then the ones i get i Crazy Lixx but its to different worlds.

About Crazy Lixx, Who chose the name of the band? And why this name?Tell us the story please =).
Haha...thats actually a name for a toy guitar that Danny had when was a small mini-Danny. He wanted to use that name later on when he formed Crazy Lixx. It turned out, however, that the name on the guitar was not Crazy Lixx but something else so we just have the dumbest name in rock now=)

How did the band start? How did u all meet?

Me and vic Met 10 years ago and started a band togheter wich mainly played covers of metallica and pantera. Danny and another guy called Mickey go togheter with us 2 years later and since then me, Danny and Vic have plyed together. Well not Vi anymore since he is now with Hardcore superstar but until lately we played together since. Luke came in after we fired the last guitarist and basist we had in 2004 or 05. He was also a childhood friend of Dannys which we alll knew sinc before.

This debut album “Loud Minority” is considered for many many people around the world the best sleaze/hard/glam album of the last years. Personally, I think is the best of last year. What was like the creative process of this album? How did u guys get the inspiration to make such an incredible album?
Oh my god, thats a book by itself=) We hade 11 songs i february 2007 wich we though were going to be on the album, but both our record company aswell as our producer Chris Laney, said “write write write” and the funny thing is that Danny got into this writing frenzy aswell as Vic so all of the sudden we had 30 songs that we had to choose from. At the end, we went in the studio with 14-15 songs and 11 made the album and 2 more are going to be on the Japan-release. We allways wanted our first album to be kinda of an “best of” album where everybody could find something on the album that they liked and I think we acchivied that pretty well. I oove the record and the response on the crowd has been absolutely amazing.

Have you guys written any material for a second album yet? How is going to be the musical direction of the second album? Is it going to be like “Loud Minority”?

We are not sure since we have been busy touring and promotig the new album. We also have to bring i another guitarrist so its going to be interesting what way we ae going to go with he new album but it will sound Crazy Lixx. That I promise you.

Have you ever been in south America? Do you know anything about Peru?

No sorry to say I have not but maybe Luke. His father is from Chile but I dont know if he has been there. Hopefully we can come and playfor you guys as soon as possible couse we really want to come.

Do u guys have any plans to do a Latin American tour?, we know that you guys are planning to go to Brazil, but how about the other countries around this continent? Have u had any conversations with any promoters from south America?

No not at the moment. As far as i know, it just going to be Brazil on that festival but if somebody want us to come and play and are willing to pay the exepenses for playing I would love to do a south american tour.

What is the craziest thing a Crazy Lixx’s fan has done in any of ur concerts or presentations? Or nothing they have done shocked you yet?

No I havent experienced any special crazy stuff,,,at least not on stage. One time two guys started fightinh and one of the guys got his leg broke and we had stop playing since the ambulancestaff needed to get throug =)

who is the most “required” (by girls or maybe boys too xD ) Crazy Lixx member? What is the craziest thing a girl (fan) has done for any of you guys?

It used to be Vic but Im not sure. He has the body of a greek god but both Danny and Luke are goodlooking guys but nothing special has happened on or off stage wich is good since our girlsfriends would kill us=)

This one it’s a question that one of ur girl fans ask me to add to this interview: Are you all guys on a relationship right now?

Yeah! Me, Luke and Danny have relationships but as far as I know the new guitarist is single. Sorry ladies.

We all know some stuff that we have read on the internet about Vic leaving the band, but Can you tell us a little bit of the real reasons why he left the band? And what are ur feelings about it?

It is also a very long story but in short, Vic got offered to play for Hardcore superstar and he couldnt pass on it wich we understood. We where going to try and see if he could play in both bands at first but it quikly showed that it was impossible. We, in Crazy Lixx, had to ask him to choose and he chose them. We respect his decision even to it hurt like hell. Especially with me. We are still friends thoug and I see him from time to time when we play football.

What is your favorite song to play live? And why?

I love to play pure desire of the album since its so heavy and groovy but i also love playing make ends meet since I have allways been a sucker for ballads.

Some days ago you told me about a new guy that would be ur new guitar player in Crazy Lixx, could u tell us a little bit more about him? Who is he? Where has he played before?

His name is Andy but I call him junior since he is only 19 years old and 9 years younger than me. He used to play i a local band in stockholm called sharp wich doesnt exist anymore. Its not official yet so >Icant tell you more at this point.

Please tell us how can we contact you if we want Crazy Lixx to play in our countries.

If you want us to come and play you should contact Kalle Metz at agency group in sweden www.agencygroup.se

Please feel free to say anything to your Latin American fans, especially your fans from Peru =) what would u say to them??

Gracias por su amor y su support! Much love from Sweden!

Thank you so much Joey! We hope to see you and Crazy Lixx someday in this part of the world. Regards from your Peruvian fans!. Rock on!!"
